Hello I am having some problems with my computer for some time, but things got out of hand in the last days :( . I have installed avast antivirus and it found some trojan and briss viruses, but I could not delet them all, because it kept saying that I don't have access or that Windows is using this programme. So I went to your forum and followed the instructions. I downloaded Ad-aware, which cleaned, so I think, all of the viruses and suspicious data (there were a lot), and then I ran hijack. I hope you can tell me if there is something else I need to do. My computer is rather slow, freezes a lot, especially if I am running more programmes at once, or if I go offline. It often finds errors and then explorer closes down. And when I go to the internet, a search page openes and I can't close it. I tried to erase some programmes which I know are slowing my computer down, but I can't get rid of them. Please help me! I need my computer for exams. Thanks for helping!!!! Katja from Slovenia :)

    Hi,

I dont see any adware in there ?? :( not BRISS especially.
If your antivirus is finding things in a folder called _RESTORE then you just have backups that need to be removed. To do this, turn off System Restore, reboot, and then turn it back on. Details here -
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...2001012513122239?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam

If your PC is freezing a lot and giving explorer.exe errors then you might need to reinstall. Luckily Windows ME doesn't mind if you reinstall it over itself, which often corrects a lot of problems. This will mean installing ME to the same folder C:\Windows

To avoid reinstalling, you could try updating any video or sound drivers, chipset drivers for mainboard, and perhaps BIOS. Running a registry cleaner/repairer could also help, hopefully someone can suggest a free one
