hidden files

    In windowsXP ''do not show hidden files and folders'' is selected.In Kubuntu also do not show hidden files is selected.But I am able to see the windows hidden files from Kubuntu.What can I do for security.

    Files that are "hidden" are only "hidden" by the operating system. There's no magic way to make them invisible to another OS looking at the disk that doesn't subject itself to the constraints of the original OS... aside from encrypting the files or the disk.

    The do not show hidden files is file browser specific so nothing much can be done on either OS, you can see all Windows hidden files from Linux as well. The point is that the system files, even if exposed in Windows just can't be touched.
