    Hello

    I just installed the Trail version of ESET Smart Security and I scanned my computer and no threats found but I viewed the log and I saw that some of the files had error opening next to it here are the files:

    C:\Users\PB05\NTUSER.DAT - error opening [4]
    C:\Users\PB05\ntuser.dat.LOG1 - error opening [4]
    C:\Users\PB05\ntuser.dat.LOG2 - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.persist.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Logs\DPX\setupact.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Logs\DPX\setuperr.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC\diagerr.xml - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC\diagwrn.xml - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC\setupact.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC\setuperr.log - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\security\database\secedit.sdb - error opening [4]
    C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\Firewall\pfirewall.log - error opening [4]

    and this note at the bottom:

    [4] Object cannot be opened. It may be in use by another application or operating system.

    I am not that computer savvy.

    Hello

    AFAIK these are system files that can't be accessed by the AV component once Windows is running - nothing to worry about.

    IIRC, they are scanned during boot.

    Those files are either password protected, a Windows system/program file or currently in use. The following Knowledgebase article explains and is basically the same explanation for each version of the product:
