    Hi
We have a server running MS Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition. It
currently has 5X 146GB SAS HDDs in a RAID 5 Array (4 of 5 is used for the RAID, the last one is used as a Hot Spare). We purchased 3X additional 146GB SAS HDDs. Our current partitions are as follows: <C> for Operating System (20GB) , <D> for secondary Swap File (16GB) & <E> for DATA and Applications & Programs (374GB). I want to increase our <C> and <E> as its running low on space. <C> has about 6 GB free and <E> still has about 73GB available.

What I wanted to do is the following:

1.) Temporarily remove the secondary swap file from <D> (this shouldn't be a problem as the server still has its primary swap file on <C>).
2.) Then I want to merge <D> with <C> to increase its capacity of <C> to 35/36GB.
3.) Then I want to shrink <E> as it still has a bit of 'lean-way' left with regards to space available. I want to shrink it with 16GB to re-instate the swap partition again.
4.) Re-instate the <D> partition and create a secondary swap file again on the partition.
5.) Then I want to expand the RAID stack by adding the 3 new drives to the RAID stack using the RAID controller's utility.
6.) Thereafter I want to use the program to either create another partition from the newly created space and then merge it into <E> again, or I want to just add the newly created (unpartitioned) space to <E> to increase its capacity.

I have to complete this project very soon and I need to look at a software package that can help me do this. I have registered and downloaded Acronis Disk Director Server 10.0, but during the installation it refuses to register. I have checked our firewall and proxy but I cannot get past this. I want to evaluate the product before looking at purchasing it. Could someone please send me a link to download a trial version of Disk Director Server 10.0 that does not require registration during the installation?

    Thank you in advance.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have tried to contact Acronis Support, but I haven't had a reply for 2 weeks. This is why I posted this thread on the forum.

Acronis has been having problems with their website lately. Your best option may be to contact them using the Live Chat feature. If that doesn't work, send them a PM from this forum.
