Hi, I finally decided to get MSE & OA Free Firewall on my system instead of OA++.. now i wonder if you guys have any tipps on how to set up MSE correctly (i will do the same thread for OA but in the "Other Firewall" category).
This is what i found in other threads so far:

add explorer.exe and dwm.exe to the list of excluded processes
For an "manual" update every day, perform a quickscan on schedule.. it will check for update befor doing the quickscan

any other tipps e.g. for excluding processes? Especially since i also use OA Free Firewall?

    thanks

I mentioned explorer.exe and dwm.exe only if you are facing performance issues with MSE - especially the lag in rendering icons for executable items. Some people do not face these issues in MSE's default state, so no need for them to configure anything.

Exclude OA Firewall processes, but do not exclude explorer.exe and dwm.exe. Any Zero-day worm/trojan/virus exploiting these processes vulnerability will be inevitably trusted as well.

MSE is wonderfully simple and straightforward
Download, Install, let it update, sit back..and enjoy!
    Done!

    Zakazak,
Would you please explain what you mean.
"For an "manual" update every day, perform a quickscan on schedule.."
What throws me is the 'on schedule' part.
Are you sayong to schedule quick scans?
    Thanks.

in mse, settings, the first ab on the left side

there u can "plan/schedule" what u want to do for example, each saturday at 15:00..

now from what i read mse will update only once a day automatically. if there are new updates, you would have to press the "update button" manually. a semi-automatic way it to perform a quickscan on schedule everyday at an certain time. because before mse starts the quickscan, it will check for updates.

    u get what i mean? :)
