    The only way to use TI for backup of C without including the OS is to use its Files And Folders backup feature. Personally I don't use TI for that. I would recommend that you backup (using Image Backup, not Clone) the ENTIRE C drive to the second drive. Depending on the size of the second drive you will be able to hold multiple backup Images on it including backups of the drive your kids use for games.

    seething,

    I'm really pleased you can boot that OS now. Ignore my comment about the floppy as that only applies to non-boot floppies.

    So is the 80 GB drive your first HD now and the 160 GB HD is the game drive?

    A pint would be great.

    PS When I looked at your boot.ini ..

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

    I did think it was strange. The OS on the second HD was the default. Not really sure what that means in real life but your changes in the BIOS worked.

    ah yes, sorry Ralphie, that is what I meant to say. I would just backup the entire hard drive.

    A co-worker of mine always does a full backup, as he has heard that "incremental" backups are NOT trustworthy, and to always just create a new backup, verify it, and then delete the older backup if it is no longer needed.

    Thank you to you and the other gentlemen. I hate to say it, but it seems that it's the users that give the majority of the help here, with no pay, and nothing to gain from it, it's a great thing :D

    Hi Ralphie,

    Just an updated.... I ordered some of these devices today. Hopefully
    will have them by Friday ( I'm hoping )

    Thank you for steering me to that solution.

    This new setup should be a very nice addition to my system, thank you again.

    ( I'd still like to learn how to dual boot using Partition Magic though )
    I'll take baby steps for this, I'm going to go to Bestbuy on the weekend
    and see if they sell it there.

    Hi guys,

    another update.

    My order of these racks and trays arrived yesterday afternoon.

    I've installed one last night, and wow, - I'm super happy !

    I opted for the digital front for the ones I bought, ( Vantec brand ) and am
    really impressed.

    Install was super easy, and the computer started with no problems at all.

    Very nice looking I might add. If anyone is interested I could post a few images.

    I'm going to now install another old 100 gig drive that I have, and get that going for my kids later tonight.

    Thanks a million for all the info.... great stuff guys ! :D

    I knew you would like the idea :) ... it is ideal for what you want to do. I didn't know they now have digital fronts ... post a pic or a link to where you bought them. Plus you now have a very flexible way to backup with True Image.
