I am getting frequent pop up ads, if I try to close them the computer just freezes.
Adware,Spybot and Norton anti-virus hasnt helped.
Could someone have a look at this hijack list to see if there is anything wrong and if so how to fix it.
How do I stop it happening again.?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Hi muzzer07,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5FA6752A-C4A0-4222-88C2-928AE5AB4966} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SWIN32.DLL

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adstartup] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\automove.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mrzfllsmjqva] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wkwuxyom.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [fuxmj] C:\WINDOWS\fuxmj.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\fuxmj.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\automove.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wkwuxyom.exe

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thanks very much Pieter that seem to have done the trick.

I couldnt find the fuxmj.exe file you referred to though.

I also have found "adupdmanager" a xml file on my hard drive. Its icon is planet earth with << >> each side of it.
There are 4 similar icons in the windows folder but they are named b2-t-......etc. Once opened they list various websites, but not ones I've accessed.
Are these normal or should I get rid of them?

I have Norton Anti virus but no firewall. I do have a disc for a Macafee firewall, can I use this or will it interefere with Norton.

As long as you only use the firewall, I wouldn't expect any conflicts.

The xml files are just data files. Harmless by themselves. Rename them to .bak for a while. When you are sure no legitimate program needs them, delete them.

Please read: Why did I get infected in the first place

    Regards,

    Pieter
