I wanted to do a check on unsigned drivers(sigverif) and found many unsigned drivers.I checked them and found all of them in one file C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\hpdeskjet_39004c4d which was the printer I had used before.I had uninstalled that HP printer but surprisingly I found out that there are many dlll's left.I have a xerox and a samsung laser printer now and does it make any bad affects if I delete that ''spool'' folder.

Let's put it this way Cet - are they causing you any grief now or is it their presence that concerns you?

It is the presence of that file that makes me curious to remove it.But sometimes The Xerox printer gives an error like this: ''one of the devices is not recognized by windows....'' I am not sure if it is the reason of this.
I read your answer half an hour ago on another computer I saw an application about dll checking, but when I opened my PC the answer was gone.I would appreciate it if you could again give me the name of that application.

I pulled'em 'cause I found they were both inappropriate for your situation. Tell me, does Shadow Protect cover you in the event they're moved or unregistered? You know how to dump (I'm not talk'in ss) a file listing of the directory in question? There a space after hpdeskjet?

I am not using shadow protect now,I had tried it once but since it has running services I am now gone back to paragon(I forgot to remove it from my signature).I have paragon images if I need to rescue my system, but I have never restored an image before.
Sorry I did not understand your question, what does ''ss'' stand for?

I installed Windows XP Pro 1 year ago.
This is what I get after running ''sigverif''

And when I search those dll's with ''Everything'' I find out that they are all in one file, which is Deskjet 3900.I removed it from my system nearly 11 months ago and installed 2 new laser printers.

Whether they're signed or not has no bearing on their removal. Now where'd you unzip regdllview - full path?

Cet, find obsolete registrations by clicking 'Missing File' in order to sort the list by missing files.

There are only 6 missing files, which are leftovers from the programs I had uninstalled before such as:wondershare music converter and PDFXchange viewer.. but the hp files are not there.
Thank you so much for your help.

Ready with that backup? :D There'd probably be no problems unless your puter's an HP.

In any event, they can be unregistered issuing the following from a shell:

    regsvr32 /u /s c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\hpdeskjet_39004c4d\*.dll

Go for a "Hail Mary" reboot and keep your fingers crossed. No issues - then remove!

Me, I'd move'm elsewhere incase, @ least for a while.

It is a good idea to save those files on my second hard disk.

Their size on disk I'm sure doesn't account for much. Unregister first Cet, reboot and maybe even try printing something.
