help norton 2005 internet security

    I just purchased a new computer with a sixty day trial nis 2005 since nis 2006 is out now do i need uninstall this free trial before i purchase nis 2006 or can i install over the top.thanks in advance for any help.

    2-3 years ago, I did try to install Nav 2003 on a computer who came with Nav 2002 (preinstalled only), and couldn't get it to work: not only its more careful to uninstall 2005, but you'll have to remove it before to install 2006 anyway. You can still use the 60 days with 2005 before: two more month for free :)

    I would not install over the top at all. Uninstall and then install the new version.

    The only problem with running the symantec SymNRT remover is that it can kill your internet connection. It is rare but it definatly can happen. I would not use it except as a last resort. Norton av 2005 seems to remove very well with just the add/remove in windows.

    thanks for all the good advice i removed 2005 without a hitch and now enjoying the new 2006 suite it rocks.
