why not just reimage it then put ShadowDefender on it and you wont have these issues.

    Do you download Malwarebytes?

Maybe make in other computer a rescue CD if you cant download Malwarebytes.

I have teens and they are on my space to, all the time. The safest thing I found was ShadowDefender that deletes all on reboot. It really is your best bet, with teens.

Reality, you need to reimage if it is a new computer for your sake, then lock it down with ShadowDefender or a program like FD-R to create a snapshot to roll back to. Take it one step at a time and ask for your next step here. The members here can make sure you dont have this headache again.

Well... the screenshot please if you wish to continue w/ the cleanup. We start to go in rounds.

Otherwise, if it's a new computer - just take the rescue media you got with the computer and reinstall the OS from scratch.

you said it was new. I would suggest you take it back to the store that hopefully offers service in situations like this.

take it to Best Buy and they will fix your issue, maybe at no charge.. Do not let them sell you any software for it then come here after that so people who know can assist you. Otherwise, it is your choice.

Did you get an install DVD with the computer? If so, take it, stick it into your DVD drive, boot from it and do a fresh clean install (not repair or anything, let it wipe your disk). If you don't know what I'm talking about above, then I'd strongly suggest following the advice of seeking a professional service to assist you.

just remember, have them fix it and that is all. No new software. Take the time afterwards to come here and tell members who will be using it and for what. They will set you up with what works, doesnt cost a arm and a leg and give you piece of mind. We have all been there.

Come on, reimaging isnt hard, but can be the first time. Let Best Buy get this guy straight.

Well, no experience with Best Buy, they might solve it for him. Looks like it will be faster than trying to fix the issue since it's clearly above his head. Once he's got a fresh sane install, then we can continue to make the thing secure.

totally agree. I remember doing a reimage and choose just one wrong option on setup and guess what, had to start over again. His mistake was not coming here first and that is why I hope others who lurk read this thread.

But yes, he will be a happy camper when he returns because it wont take much to keep this from even happening. Different people, different problems, different solutions.

USA still the best. But barely.
How about dl MBAM & others from another computer. Especially if they're portable versions. Or booting into safe mode & running from there. Or just do a System Restore from safe mode. So many things to try 1st before giving up your computer to the store. They'll probably keep it for a week or more. And who wants them rooting around in your computer.

I think you're being a little rough, even though I doubt you intend it. This is a lady with your average, everyday teen, who, like so many others, don't understand the huge negatives of these social networks. And, the poster may be dealing with PC security for the very first time, and, possibly, never even knew we existed. Who knows what search terms she put into Google, how many pages into the listings we were with those search terms.

You're right though, once she returns, if she does, we can all band together and give her a start to hassle-free, clean computing.

A friend of mine at work had this baddie, what i did was go to the oldest
system restore point and roll the system back.
then downloaded a few scanners MBAM,A2 etc...
not really hard to do, im in the building trade and not really that
computer savvy but it did the job.

I don't think I would take a computer for repair to Best Buy they are designed to make money & lots of it on problems like these. This will cost her at least 150 dollars and about a weeks time for them to play with the computer. If she is lucky they will scan the computer with a boot disc probably using MBAM. If that does not work they will reinstall the operating chargeing extra to save her Email contacts & personal data. As to the security system they will attempt to install Norton or something else similar for 150 dollars or so. I personally just would not do this. I know of at least one lady who did take her computer to Best Buy the result was they could not get the baddies off her computer so they decided to reinstall the operating system. Of course they put it on the wrong partitiion. She apparently had a data partition. After the third unsuccessful try she gave the computer to her husband who took it into work & had the Computer man they employed fix it. I'm not sure she ever did get it repaired. My suggestion would be for her to scan this with a rescue disc like Avira etc.

If you don't have any sensitive infromation in PC/Notebook then why don't you give somebody a remote session, surely they'll gonna help you out. For this you have to install Team Viewer in you PC, and you will get it connected with other person who can handle your problem...

If needed you can hire me for "free". I will try to help you out.
