Help! Computer Scan icon NOT appearing

    I just bought ESET Smart Security 4. Installed on a Windows XP pc, rebooted several times, and launched ESET. The Computer Scan icon does NOT appear. I have tried several times and checked all settings. I checked the 'Enable Antivirus and antispyware' protection box, and it was unchecked. So I checked it and clicked Ok. Still NO Computer Scan icon is appearing.


    The only icons on the left side of the Welcome Screen are 'Protection' status, Setup, Tools and Help and Support.

    Anyone have any ideas?? I have no idea what is going on.

    Have you tried reinstalling ESS? Does disabling self-defense and restarting the computer make a difference?

    Is there an Eset icon in the toolbar what colour is it? Did you have any other security software prior to Eset and how did you remove it if yes. Do you suspect malware at all?
