When you bring up the on demand scanner you see a screen called Scanning Targets. The Help button on this screen does absolutely nothing. In the previous commercial release the button worked.

Here is a fix to this problem:

    1)Bring up the On-Demand Scanner
    2)Go to the 'setup' tab
3)Under the field 'System', uncheck the box that says 'Use MAPI interface'
4)Save and Exit, then start NOD32 on-demand scanner again.

This worked for me. I had made a thread on this, but I didnt get to find out why I was facing the problem with the usage of MAPI interface enabled.

Thank you. I could not find any threads on this . Perhaps I was not using the right search terms.

Decided not to bother for two reasons.
    1. MAPI interface I believe is needed by EMON to stamp outgoing mail as being checked. I do not know what other effect disabling this setting may have on overall operation.
    2. The Help buttons (Silver coloured) on the the various modules still work. I guess I am one of those who will be anxious for Eset version 3.0 and a "dumbed down" interface.

I don't think disabling the MAPI interface is a good idea for those using outlook - and if it somehow miraculously makes the help button work again, it's certainly something that support need to take a look at I think - send support AT eset.com an email with a link to this post.

    regards

FWIW, I use Outlook 2002 and the MAPI interface is not needed for EMON to stamp outgoing mail. Unckecking the MAPI interface here removes two Outlook folders from the Scanning Targets/Folders and files of NOD32 On-Demand.
