I believe you can change the time to reset in Advanced settings... I don't have AppGuard installed right now
Yes @boredog, you can untick the reset off on the main panel or change the default time in Advanced settings. Also discussed here.
Paulderdash See the number post 2 in this thread : About Heidmal and their work: Operation Tovar is an international collaborative operation carried out by law enforcement agencies from multiple countries against the Gameover ZeuS botnet Where was AppGuard during this era?
I have not had any issues since disabling Heimdal's Malware Engine 2 days ago... so I'm waiting to email support until i see if this has fixed things. The behavior now is that my internet connection is blocked for a few seconds on wake-up from hibernate/sleep and then reconnects and all is good. Have you tried turning the malware engine off?
Currently uninstalled so cannot check that. Disabling Traffic Scanning solved my issues, but to me that is the main reason why I would use Heimdal. Heimdal Support said a new beta will be out before month-end. Will retry it then.
It's been a week since i turned off the malware engine - no more disconnect issues - so that was the cause of my problems...
Can someone confirm if 2.2.3 Beta is the current version (read that in another thread). I developed DNS issues with 2.2.1 Beta so uninstalled - may want to try the latest version to see if anything has changed ...
I think you can download and install the free version if you have the Pro version, but probably best to wait for the auto-update.
I guess people lost the interest once they discovered that all the protection the product offers is a malware url/ip black list.
Yea. I have it installed on one of my test machines, but I'm not really sure what it does. It sits there but seldom if ever do I hear or see a peep out of it. There used to seem like a lot of promotion of the product, but lately I hear little to nothing about it. I keep it on my test PC because I have a license and because it doesn't take up much RAM, but I can't remember it catching something.
The other day, it did block a website for me that Norton had allowed. After the release of version 2, Heimdal Pro seems to have reached a certain level of stability, which may help to explain the recent lack of news. For me, some of the "magic" dissipated when they said that they would not support Vista. Well, I was interested in Heimdal precisely as another layer of defense for my favorite (but aging) OS. I'll still keep the full-featured edition on at least one Windows 7 system.
maybe not - I brought this up almost a year ago & response was all positive. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/heimdal-free-and-pro.377569/page-6#post-2526247
I installed version 2.2.2. I see there have been some changes, but I am still having issues discussed above. Will uninstall again. I didn't have these issues prior to 2.2.1 Beta.
Early days yet, but I uninstalled Zemana Anti-Malware, and my Heimdal Pro issues appear to be gone. Strange, but there appears to be some sort of network / DNS conflict between these two. @rm22 do you use ZAM? @boredog I see you do?
Yup have zemana also and still have the dns highjack issue. I think mine did update to the latest beta but when I redid my computer, it won't patch itself to the latest version. If I remember there were a lot of changes in the GUI in newest version.
I installed the free yesterday and got v2.2.2 Surely you can re-activate your key under Settings>License?
True but the only key I could find was a six month key for a free online offer. Might bhave to dig through my old e-mail to see if it is still there.
The only thing the free version does is patch? On their site it says since win 8 the flash player is embedded and so you need to use your windows update for that so I guess I will uninstall it. I see they have a sale going on for Pro at 35 bucks instead of 70 per year.
