My laptop runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit. The OS might have something to do with the problem. Or it could be incompatibility with one or more of my security software. I have EIS, AppGuard, HMP.A, and Adguard.
Im using Eset Smart Security 8 and i gave full TCP/UDP (in/out) access for all Heimdal processes. No more wmiprvse.exe CPU spikes. XhenED, can you do the same in EIS and see if that works for you?
I think there's no need for me to do that because all Heimdal processes are already whitelisted in EIS. Right now, wmiprvse.exe is not consuming CPU. This behavior is random. Sometimes, it consumes CPU, sometimes it does not. I also speculate that the problem might be because of the .Net Framework.
I dont know about EIS firewall, but if those three Heimdal processes are whitelisted in EIS firewall, you might want to test/make a custom firewall rule for them by allowing any protocol and to any port(in/out). I solved it by allowing TCP/UDP in/out, any port and placing all the Heimdal processes in trusted zone. One interesting thing is that Heimdal blocks www.urtech.ca, but according to urlvoid.com and ublock origin blacklist, the site is safe.
Yes. https://heimdalsecurity.com/en/products/heimdal-pro But here........ not yet= https://heimdal.zendesk.com/hc/en-u...equirements-for-Heimdal-PRO-and-Heimdal-Free- -----------------
The statements about Vista and 7 in that e-mail are seriously wrong: My Vista systems all received a mass of Windows Updates three weeks ago on Patch Tuesday, and will continue to receive updates until April 2017. "Soon" being in four years' time, 2020.
Can anybody confirm that: Heimdal Pro version 2 fails to install on an XP system? Heimdal Pro version 2 fails to install on Vista?
Confirm that Heimdal Pro version 2 fails* to install on Windows XP SP3 32-bit. *I didn't get any errors when trying to install Heimdal, just the installation dialogue boxes disappearing.
So Quttera flags it as a potentially suspicious site, and it found 6 suspicious files on the site. Why it does not show, what those 6 suspicious files are? Others, like urlvoid, found nothing. Maybe Quttera was faster than urlvoid to flag this site, but im still interested why it flagged it AND why Heimdal flagged it as a malware site.
Click on the Scanned File Analysis tab, then the Potentially Suspicious Files: 6 drop down menu to see the files' details. Just FYI.
I installed Heimdal Pro very briefly. I could not get it to install until I disabled VoodooShield. Which is suprising as VoodooShield did not give any indication that it was blocking anything. Once I managed to installed it, it was constantly using over 10% CPU use, so I uninstalled it. It did not uninstall cleanly, but I was able to delete the remaining exe files with Unlocker. Stragely, neither IObit Uninstaller or Soft Organizer found the exe files while were left in the Heimdal folder in Program Files. I did not like the patching system as it was not smart enough to only list software that was installed. I don't need to see a list of every single program it can update, when I have only a few of them installed on my system.
Unistalled seems to be an blacklistin appilacation after alle based on the cloud. I can even kill 3(zeesus) those prosess via prosess lasso. No good.
Thanks for the info. I can confirm that Heimdal Pro v2.1.3 installed without a hiccup on Vista Business SP2, 32-bit. Used the SOS 1-year free offer from this week that I'd just noticed. The only hitch is that the update function does not seem to have found anything to keep patched. The only applications listed are iTunes and something called Jitsi, neither of which is on this system (the boxes are unchecked). No listings appear for IE, Firefox, Adobe Flash, or Silverlight, all of which I do have on this machine. I was able to switch on the Traffic Scanning and Traffic Filtering. I'm hopeful that they will work because the program did install, but the odd results with the patching system make me wonder. Time will tell.
Hi, all. Can Heimdal Pro be used together with Bitdefender IS 2016 and HitmanPro.Alert? Will it be an overkill? How about just using Heimdal Pro with HitmanPro.Alert? Will it be sufficient? Thanks, Koliko
They all should work fine. You may use them along with Heimdal PRO. Heimdal PRO is claimed to be a companion security software.
