    Hi guys.

After changing to Win7 Prof 64bit i have heavy problems with PrevX 3.0. (not the beta)

I installed PrevX on the very fresh maschine. Stand alone.

After that the explorer often chrashes and needs to be restarted.
Some other MS programms do crash too.

I deinstalled PrevX and everything is fine again. I deinstalled it using Systemcontrol panel -> reboot -> ForceUninstall Tool -> reboot -> cCleaner

    Systeminformation:

    Dell Inspiron 1720
    Intel Motherboard
    Nvidia Graka
    Kingston RaM
    LAN-Internet Connection
    FireFox
Windows FireWall with advanced settings, inbound and outbound connections blocked, exception rule for prevx.
Date Execution Prevention is active for all processes.

    Error event logs:

    explorer.exe
    or
    or
    or
    and many other with ntdll.dll

as an example for other crashes: mmc.exe

There is no minidump cause i do not get any bsod.
I forgot to save a PrevX scan log. :cautious:

Interesting: After complete deinstallation of PrevX my network symbol in the taskbar shows connection to the router but not to the internet. Same after reboot. But i had internet connection (tried to google). After a few minutes the network center shows everything as normal.

    best regards

    Hello,
Those crashes don't really lead to Prevx being the source of the headaches (at least not directly), but could you try installing the RC from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta64 and see if that fares any better?

If not, I would definitely want to get this fixed and may send over a cut-down version which has some functionality disabled to see if that fares any better :)

Let me know if it works any better for you!

    I installed the RC.

It does not detect the Trojan Simulator.

Ok. PrevX is detecting it on demand but not on execution. :cautious:

Scan log is attached. By the way: There is an FP in there too. The uninstaller of qip should be ok.

There is a known issue in the RC build 200 with realtime protection on 64bit which will be fixed in the next build (likely by tomorrow) and I have corrected the FP.

Could you PM me your license key? I'll take care of the MyPrevx management :)

    Thanks!

I also had major issues with MSE, PrevX and Defensewall.
I ditched defensewall, installed the RC and MSE on Win 7 64-bit, and so far so good, except it does not detect all the things the normal 3 detected.
Will there bew a new release of the 64-bit version soon?

The protection in the 64bit version still works properly in the live version 3.0.1.65 and the RC functionality has been corrected in build 3.0.4.206 (and 3.0.4.210 which is the new current RC).

Is there a RC free x64 version available?

Edit: I am installing Win7x64 next week and I am considering purchasing Prevx realtime. What I really need to know from other members is how well is it running on Win7x64RTM right now. Do I need the RC version or not? Is there any reduced functionality on Win7x64? And does it integrate into the security center?

You can use the RC link in the forum. If you don't enter any key, you will only get detection with no removal.
Otherwise, i am currently running prevx RC221 on Windows 7 64 and it works perfectly. All the features included in prevx 3.0 are OK, but the new SafeOnline (only present in RC releases) doesn't work yet in x64 versions of Windows. And it integrates in Windows Action Center in Antivirus and Antispyware sections.

That is good to hear. Thanks for the response. SafeOnline is brand new correct? You have a link describing the details of it out of curiosity? I have read about it being mentioned here in the forum, but not exactly what it does.
