Can anyone confirm that on certain operations Hard Disk Manager 12 removes the short names from all files and folders? I have observed this behavior on FAT to NTFS conversion and vice versa, and on cluster resizing.

On NTFS volumes there are not any short names left at all, and on FAT volumes the short names are changed, for example C:\PROGRA~1 becomes C:\PROGRAMF.

This behavior leads to all kinds of problems, for example programs like Microsoft Office 2003 store some short instead of long paths in the registry, and batch files using the TEMP environment variable without using quotation marks stop working because the TEMP variable now contains the long path name (with spaces) of the temporary folder.

The last version of Hard Disk Manager 11 seems to handle short names properly.
