I use Superantivirus real time, with Malwarebytes on demand. Also SBie and Shadow Defender, and NOD32AV

I use PrevX, Defensewall, Windows Firewall Control and (until it expires in June) Nod32. I believe, prevx and defensewall can do everything I need.

I stopped installing all this security software after I figured out that I did not get any malware in years and that I just wasted a lot of money for all that security apps.

I think, we are paranoid. I like to have my pc FAST running, so I can WORK on it, and don't like to be busy the whole day scanning for malware I do not have.

    MBAM

Thats about the worst, but my point is, if you have one of the top 2-3 AMs, you do not need anything else - its all a waste of time and money and will do more harm than good.

I've been running the same security apps for about 6 or 7 months.

    1. Avira Free
    2. Sandboxie
    3. Sas - on demand
    4. maam - on demand
    5. Comodo Firewall to monitor outgoing programs
    6. Have a hardware router

I find this combination good for me. Boring I know, but I tend to follow the saying: If it's not broke, Don't fix it

Too much security, yeah most people on these forums are too paranoid.

I'll run this setup all year,no biggie. Not worried the slightest.

I've got better things to do now that summer is here and outdoor activities are in full swing :D

Some people enjoy watchin scanners run, pretty boring life IMO. I'll just enjoy life :thumb:

Paranoia is something good if you are able to control it because you see more then the mass and you can take measures.

I run essentially the same setup as you do except I also have SuperAntiSpyware running in realtime. No known conflicts or issues.

An HIPS no ? In a multi layer defense it's needful. :)

I wouldn't run avast! alone, but with what it finds it sure does one darn good job. :D

To mention my current... no wait - look at my sig. :D :p

For "covering" up from all sides, nothing more than an anti-executable and a firewall is required. Those two do their jobs the best.
