Ah ok, you better wait then ;)
I'm using the one from leapfrog with no issues, only a slight archive bug when you save them in a folder using -
    (ie D:\programs\test-test).

Just a thought: perhaps the download link should be made private for those "site licence customers" and OEMs with a username/password for them to access the files only. This way, it wouldn't be fully open to all and sundry. It would prevent home users like me from downloading the 14-day trial only to find it's not purchaseable from LSI.

I can use this Leapfrog-version, when I create a test snapshot in my actual version of FDISR.
One FDISR pregnant of another FDISR, an interesting experiment, called "digital mutations". :)

Careful, Erik, because FD and Leapfrog affect files that are outside of ALL snapshots, and an old Snapshot might not be able to save someone if the FD/Leapfrog files are affected.

Note all, that if you install the Leapfrog version, you could end up on your own with support. I don't believe Leapfrog provides general support, and if you install the leapfrog version, I know Raxco won't support you.

    Patience.

I got the leapfrog update and it works great. It will work with all of my snapshots. What more could I want?

Compressed snapshots in the new version is quite nice if I may say so myself.
Used to be around 6GB, now it's around 2.9GB :D Bootable too.

    Hi Brian

Notice any speed difference working with the compressed snapshot, and does it defrag okay?

Speed is the same actually, I really can't tell any difference.
And I let Diskeeper handle all my defragging so no idea about that.

Out of curiousity, are you able to exclude the $ISR.bin file from being moved during a boot-time defrag?

    That sounds very promising.
FDISR needs 46.19gb to store 10 snapshots of 6.44gb
ATI needs 28.92gb to store 10 images of 6.44gb

The compression reduces the space with 50%,
So FDISR will need only 23.10gb to store 10 snapshots of 6.44gb. That's better than ATI.

My system reaches a compression rate of 30%.
The result depends on the data that needs to be compressed.
Snapshot compression is based on the NTFS compression feature.
I don't notice preformance impact when working in a compressed snapshot.

Nevertheless I won't say NO to 30% either, it's a big improvement of FDISR because FDISR is a real space-eater and that was its main disadvantage, not for me but for users with a little tiny weeny harddisky.
As I said before, I can wait until Raxco makes it official.

Just over a month since it was released at LS. Wonder when Raxco et al plan on releasing the latest version of this fine piece of software?

True, but if Software Pursuits can release virtually the same product, I can't see why Raxco can't.

I am being patient, but can't understand the differences.

Now, of course, the various vendors will have to test build .172 before releasing that to public sale. (Note to Raxco: scrap testing .169, .172 is out.)

That makes me think that bugfixes are on their way, aren't you happy that build 169 wasn't released by your reseller?

Well, they published information about build 169, but when you download you get build 166.
