What are the benefits of hardware vs. software firewalls?
Should I use both? I've been considering the SonicWall tz170 in addition to NIS(NAV + NPF). What will the hardware do that the that the NPF won't ? Is the Norton
Personal Firewall a good choice ?

    Thanks, ZDF

A hardware firewall is about the best incoming protection a home user can get. But it only blocks incoming. A good soft firewall is needed to block outgoing. The two togher are a pretty secure setup. And to answere your other question about NPF, it should serve you pretty well. From what I have read it is a good app.
