I found this old thread with pretty much my same question, but want to know about the latest software...

When you password protect an image in Paragon's Hard Disk 14, what is the actual level of protection?

Is the entire image run through AES or some other vetted encryption, or is there just something to prevent Paragon from continuing without the correct password, but the image is still readable by a sector editor or similar software?

I've searched but can't find any documentation on this.

    Thanks for any help.

I just recently saw another mention of used Paragon algorithm in a new Knowledge Base.
Image file can be viewed (and edited) using the HEX-editor. But the contents of the encrypted file (the entire file to the end) does not look like the contents of an unencrypted file.
