    Hallelujah!

I heard there was ESS 4
Much better than what had gone before
    So I read the instructions
    And downloaded it, did ya?
You may have got what I did too
An error message, then a screen of blue
I must’ve done something wrong, oh Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
    I’ve stuffed it up, Hallelujah!

So I read the instructions one more time
    Concentrate, go line by line
    Double click and install it
And this time it goes through
But now I see a sign of red
Firewall’s not working, is what it said
I’ve stuffed up again, oh sod ya!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
    I’ve stuffed up again, Hallelujah!

Now I run SysInspector, get a file
Email it to ESET, wait a while
But I hear nothing from them, did ya?
A week goes by and not a word
Post in the forum, feed the bird
Then receive an email from them, Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
    I’ve heard from ESET, Hallelujah!

But something’s wrong, how can it be
When I’ve gone back to version Three
They’re asking ME what the error was
    In version Four, Lord knows!
    I’m just a 78 year old git
About ready to have a fit
I just want it to work, Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
I just want it to work, Hallelujah!

So I email back, read the report
And if that’s no good, for what it’s worth
Don’t ask me things I know nothing of
    I’m a newbie, I tell ya!
    But the man replies
    (I have a fit)
    WHAT WAS THE ERROR MESSAGE?
    My head’s been bit
I guess I’ll just drop the whole thing, Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
I’ll just drop the whole thing, Hallelujah!

A fortnight or two they go by
I hear 417’s ready to fly
Should I chance it or wait some more
    What did you do?
I take a deep breath, download the file
Install it and I can smile
    No more red messages, Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
    No more error messages, Hallelujah!

With trembling hands, in the twilight murk
I reboot and hope it still works
And all is well again, I tell ya!
Bring up Firefox and it goes through
No more red messages or screens of blue
    My system's up-to-date again, Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah! Hallelujah
    My system’s up-to-date again, Hallelujah!

P.S. I’ll keep an eye on it and see how it works, nonetheless.
P.P.S. My apologies to Mr Leonard Cohen
