GtkOrphan better than Janitor (Ubuntu 9.10) ..

    Maybe better - I use it for a 'second opinion'.
    For instance after the latest updates for Ubuntu 9.10, libdns50 is redundant - libdns53 is now top dog. GtkOrphan picks up on this but Computer Janitor does not.
    GtkOrphan (frontend GUI for deborphan) has been around for a long time. There are additional options:
    >Show uninstalled packages with orphaned configuration files.
    >Show all orphan packages, not only those in the libs section.
    And,
    >Guess other libraries too.

    i've used it before and it always seems to work, or not brake anything. you can load it in to synaptic too and have it (deborphan) as an option there too i think.

    I've been using GtkOrphan for a long time and love it. But, it can be very aggressive in it's cleaning. I personally uninstall Computer Janitor...I think it's totally useless. I'm surprised it's even in Ubuntu.
