Grayed out items in Tools and Partiton menus

I have just installed Drive Backup 10.0 and am just beginning to use it. It backuped and restored my system partion just fine as well as allowed me to use the Adjust feature to transfer my complete system to another, completely different, computer. So far, so good.

However, I wonder about two things. Under Tools/Hard Disk and Tools/ Partition, all of the options are grayed out.

Would someone explain why they are grayed out to me?

You need to select a partition or Hard Disk first.

Click on a partition or Hard Disk on the Paragon Disk Map to highlight it.

Then either rt click the partition you selected ( to get the context menu),
or use the drop down menus.
