Hmm likely some sort of bug from being in such an early beta.

Mine worked fine and in fact Fire Fox was my default option.

Won't install on Vista x64. Does it install a driver for the browser sandboxing feature?

    Expresso,

I installed it on the Vista64 box, from IE7 (32 bits version). I did not download, but installed directly.

Runs blazing fast on a dual core PC. I can not find the virtualisation bit (former greenborder funtinality)?

    Passes browser test of bcheck.scanit.be

Anyone info on the virtualisaton bit?

Wow even if you have saved a lot of tabs in a session, the browser opens almost immediately!
I also disabled the reporting option, don't quite like it: :D

Since Google's Chrome has a sandboxie feature, does anyone think it word interfere with DefenseWall?
    Thanks, Dan :)

    Some impressions;

*Very fast, feels even faster than Safari, which uses the same WebKit rendering engine-possibly because of the new JavaScript Virtual Machine V8.

*"streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn't the browser that matters. It's only a tool to run the important stuff -- the pages, sites and applications that make up the web."(Google)

Takes a bit of getting used to,initially a bit too simple, but all the important bits seem there.
The address bar also doubles as a search bar.

*Being open source ,no doubt plug ins will be developed independently for functions such mouse gestures-ad blocking etc-similar to IEPlus.
    Also different skins.

Lets hope an adblocking feature will be available-but without getting too conspiratorial-maybe this wont be allowed for obvious reasons.
However doubt this,as it would be against the nature of the other options.
A choice of different search engines, cookie blocking is allowed.

*Chrome has a privacy mode; you can create an “incognito window “and nothing that occurs in that window is ever logged on your computer. The latest version of Internet Explorer 8 calls this InPrivate.

Some regard InPrivate as a new attempt to cut out Google, but this cant be right, because the way to do this has always been available in all versions of IE-opting for non Google search engines and cookie blocking.
Also MS could no doubt face another anti competition law suit were this true.

*"To fight malware and phishing attempts, Chrome is constantly downloading lists of harmful sites. Google also promises that whatever runs in a tab is sandboxed so that it won’t affect your machine and can be safely closed"
By keeping each tab in an isolated "sandbox", we were able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites"

Whatever that all means in practice.

    Still getting acclimatised-but feels terrific!

Is it just me and my cheap Logitech mouse or does the mouse reverse-scroll with this browser (and only a few lines at a time).

Been trying for the past 4 hours to get Google Chrome to connect out to the internet but all I've been getting is the Aw, Snap! Something went wrong while displaying this web page....blah, blah, blah.

Firefox connects out fine...no problem, but Google Chrome...no. Same situation on both Vista SP1 and XP Pro SP3. And I'm not alone it appears as evidenced over at Google Groups. Some are having problems due to Symantec EP while others are like me with no apparent reason. Maybe tomorrow.

    Later...

Possibly deliberate as Google doesnt want to steal FF users-they may be cooperating after all-some funding by Google and some components are used in Chrome.

For example check out the "save as" function -end result similar to FF.

edit-wrong-should be available in the same window as IE,as previously mentioned.

    Re: Google Chrome

well then i have some bad news for you... i tried it in sandboxie and it's a no-go... it can't create the tab child processes when running in sandboxie (at least not by default)...

according to their comic they have not figured out how to sandbox plugins (such as flash, shockwave, quicktime, acrobat reader, etc) yet, and plugins run separate from tabs so while the tab is sandboxed the plugin isn't... that's kind of a big problem because it means all those plugin vulnerabilities that let drive-by downloads happen are not being contained by chrome's sandboxing technology...

Here’s some hidden functions of Google Chrome that are not introduced in Google Chrome website. I think the below functions are pretty well self explanatory.

    1. about:version
    2. about:plugins
    3. about:histograms
    4. about:dns
    5. about:cache
    6. about:stats
    7. about:network
    8. view-cache:stats
    9. chrome-resource://new-tab/
    10. chrome-resource://favicon

Last but not least, the easter egg of Google Chrome - about:internets

I've been running it in ShadowDefender which I'm fooling with this week. No problems of any kind so far, except getting used to the speed. This thing is FAST! It took me a minute to figure out where my FF3 bookmarks, which were imported without problem, were.

Haven't tried downloading anything, or really done much but surf, but in ShadowDefender, it works fine if that helps anybody.

Chrome only worked a short time for me (suddenly it couldnt show any pages) but during that time it was really nice. Really fast. Seems like it will be able to use Firefoxextensions. I was impressed that Roboform was recognized :thumb:
When it comes out of beta I´ll try it again.

It doesn't work with 2.45 version of DefenseWall. I just modified my software the way Chrome may work as untrusted as soon as I could download and install it. With the next, 2.46 version it will be fully supported with default resource protection section also.
