Google Docs Extension: Installed Itself in Chrome Beta?

So, I'm using the Beta channel of Chrome and have not installed any extensions. So, why is it that Google Docs 0.4 is listed in my extensions? This is on Chrome 24 Beta. I didn't ask Google to install anything for me, and they've supposedly blocked silent installs. Well, that was silent

 

Is anyone else running Chrome Beta channel? I've done a lot of Googling and can't find an answer to this extension suddenly appearing.

 

What is its ID (on the extensions page (in developer mode))?

 

I don't know, Vasa. I removed the extension and checked my system for malware/unknown programs and came up clean. My best guess is that Google is now including it in the latest update (it wasn't there on first install of Chrome Beta). I'll uninstall Chrome and do a clean re-install to see what happens.

 

Okay, it's legit. Chrome as of 24.0.1312.52 Beta is including the extension with it.

 

Where do you see this extension? ID?
Reason I ask is that I use Google Drive but don't see this extension on the chrome://extensions page. I just see AdBlock Plus and Stylish on that page but if I look in my profile folder, I see a few more extensions:

I should add that I have enabled Sync.

This is with the current Chrome Stable (Version 23.0.1271.97).

 

The extension ID is ID: aohghmighlieiainnegkcijnfilokake. I see the extension in the extensions page, like any other. I know what you're talking about though, all you see on the "New Tab page". The Google Docs extension shows up where all the others like my DoNotTrackMe extension does. I don't have sync enabled as I don't use a Google account.
