I think it probably depends on several factors, like:

A) the software vendor

B) the business that you purchase the AV through

I've purchased software products that didn't start the "one year subscription" until the day that I installed it.....which could be as much as a month or longer after the actual purchase date (i.e. - a week or two shipping, and then a couple of two or three weeks or so of sitting around before I finally got around to installing it).

 

I'm sure that is true. However, I did once purchase from Downloadcrew, and I had thought the time did not start until activated. Evidently I was incorrect.
