If you are useing firefox there is an extension you can download that will notify you when you get Gmail.

All I use is Firefox, however I don't really like the extension. I'm looking for something more like an alert window that will work if Firefox is open or not.

PM me if you want a Gmail account. I will give you one. Just let me know who to email it too.

    Thanks bb,

But I see this Gmail Notifier is an extension for Firefox.

Well, I use IE and do have the Notifier Gmail offers.

I was only curious what this Gtray is all about, tyler mentioned. I suppose also only for Firefox ?? I didn't see it on your page though, Brad.

So, if anyone could tell me please what is good about Gtray and if one can use it for IE ?

    Thank You !! ;)

Gtray or Gmail Notifier are standalone apps who sit in your systray. It only announces new mail on your Gmail account. It's been some time since I used Gmail Notifier or Gtray.
You can't use one for IE, as far as I know. :doubt:

Hi Eldar ! ;) Thanks, I guess I can just forget about Gtray then. :D

You're welcome, :) I like both, but I'm currently using ePrompter (i like the way it handles Gmail and the fact that it nearly doesn't need any setup).

    I forgot to mention PopPeeper.

I'm also trying PopMan, but I'm currently experiencing some time-out problem with Gmail (beta-version)... but maybe it's just me :D

Another tool (not free, though) is DynAdvance

    Regards, S.
