The file: gkmixern.sys was one morning on my pc in the "C:\Doc and Settings\[userrname]\Local Settings\Temp"-folder. o_O
I can not scan it with Norton,Trojanremover, and others . They all say it is in use.I can't delete it or change its name.
I looked at the web with Google +Copernic+Ixquick, but didn't find anythying ! I even looked in Microsoft Knowledge base etc. ,but...Nothing!

Please does anyone know what it is?

thank you very much for your response. :)

I tried both websites. At Kapersky i get no response, so i am not sure the scan worked. DialogueScience said 'nothing to check, uploaded file length is zero" while the file is 29 Kb

    Hi ronny,

To be on the safe side, boot into safe mode
and delete the entire content of that folder.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Edited to stress the word content.

Ok ,i did a diskcontrol after which i could delete this "gkmixer.sys".
    yep,didn't need a save mode .
    But now i'm still wondering:"What was thiso_O?"

P.S.:to be on the save side ,i burned it first on cd ,before deleting it.

    Re: "gkmixern.sys"

I hope this is of some help. I found this link for Windows XP services. I didn't see either one of those listed, so it's probably not a Windows service.

I could delete ist after close the follow trays:
the photoloader of my digicam, the winamp-agent, antivir sys-guard, zonealarm and the logitech-controll trays.

i have had to do it this way cause my save-mode wasn't start.

but i'm sorry, i even do not know what this file does.

    hope this helps somebody.

(sorry for that broken english, it's been a while... ;-)
