Getting rid of norton other than re-formatting my HardDrive

    Help! I'm in big trouble..I've just un-installed Norton recently,How can I get rid of these frequent error pop-ups from this greedy antivirus company? I've been thinking of re-formatting my hardrive,ANY OTHER SOLUTIONS?

    I had the trial version of Norton AV 2006 on this thing and, to my surprise, actually liked it. Other than it being a pain to install, it ran pretty light. When I uninstalled it, not a problem either. Just about everything went away and I used RegEdit to find and remove the few things that were left, both Norton and Symantec. I don't know if there's anything hiding on my drive, but no problems with error messages or anything else.

    That's this machine, a generic build, that for whatever reason has never seemed to have the problems others do. I dread the day it dies and has to be replaced.
