Go to the isolated applications drop-down and select terminate.

The Pro version auto terminates (has other options too) but in the free version this has to be done manually via the Isolated Applications area in the console.

It's a pretty sweet app. I have the pro version and am fully pleased with the performance. It has a fairly steep learning curve compared to other security apps but I've found some other users here that have helped quite a bit with configuring GW for non-"out-of-the-box" functions.

I agree with @1000db answer...there is a video on youtube how the PRO version terminate real time malware attacks, that possibility has also the FREE version,i got it :thumb:

    1. How to block internet contact for some application in geswall free ?

    2. Is there a difference between default rules in the groups for applications ? For example it is not the same if I put the Power archiwer app in the OFFICE group,or in the Viewers group ?

    Thanks!

@Saraceno,i know for those shadow applications, but i think they are buggy, and don't like reboots....and the main thing is that i don't test programs :thumb: Thanks !

Geswall doesn't work with Punkbuster, for me. Quite annoying as I liked it.

Does someone know how to set rule for firefox in Gesswall that I can save files in E and F partition and that files must be default TRUSTED in this partitions after download ?

If is not trusted than is a problem, because I download lot of files ,and can't make trusted them all at the same time ,just one by one ? :'(

If you move these files to another location after download (and you're sure they are safe) they lose their untrusted status during the copy/paste operation. I have all my downloads go to a certain folder and if I want to install something, I drag it to my Desktop and install it.

WoooW thanks ! It works ! Just removing the files with CUT - PASTE on another partition makes all that files trusted at the same time....

but i found another option :D 1.GeSWall console ,then 2.Untrusted files 3. right click and START SCAN...after 1 minute of scaning there is a list of all untrusted files ,then find there all files that want to set TRUSTED,and with right click can make them all tusted at once, not only one by one....but the files that were untrusted in opened windows explorer are after that also in red border ,like are still untrusted... :D but when refresh windows with CLOSE-OPEN Windows explorer the red border is finally gone ...

Just like pro version. But to use it as a FW is a pain ATM. I will not suggest for it.

    Jmonge,

When I use GeSWall (Pro) in combo with Malware Defender, I set up MD with teh following options

    File protection
    - disable the rule for all executables, etc

    Application protection (the * rule)
    - enable direct disk, memory, registry and keyboard
    - enable kernel objects protection and system shutdown
    - disable all others

    FireWall
    - Yes easy and fast

    GeSWall
    - set network to confidential (won't allow untrusted to go outbound)

    Regards Kees

thanks kees, can i do same as you said with free version?

  22. Hmm. Anyone know if it's possible to launch a single unsandboxed instance of an application using GeSWall, as with Sandboxie? Or do you have to change the application's settings and restart it?
