I installed GeSWall free 2.9 this morning. It works fine in Google Chrome and IE7 but it keeps crashing Firefox right after it opens. I tried running Firefox in safe mode (no extensions) but the browser keeps crashing right after it loads.

I'm running XP Pro SP3, Outpost firewall, Avast Home, WinPatrol Plus. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You may try starting FF using wizard mode. Right click on FF and select "..Wizard.."

Thanks for the suggestion--I'll give it a try.

HIPS does cause strange problems. Once after I had uninstalled Geswall,I could never install softwares anymore. All installation logs showed they could not create temp files. I installed geswall again, the problem disappeared. :cautious:

I found the log file but was unable to read it. I spent most of the afternoon yesterday trying to get Fx to work with GeSWall but gave up and uninstalled it last night. Thanks for your reply.

You can try previous version. 2.9 is buggy I know.

Happy to say that I installed Sandboxie 3.39.24 Beta (with the Trusteer Rapport software fix) and it's running smooth as silk. Guess I'll work with it and learn to use it properly for a while before I try GeSWall again. Thanks for your feedback.
