Eset no longer supports NOD32 v.1
    Bratislava, 12-12-2005

Eset announced termination of support for the version 1 of the NOD32 antivirus system. For clients, who are still using the outdated version of the program this means that they will no longer receive daily virus signature database updates. Without the updates, the level of security of their PCs is markedly decreased.

The current version of the award-winning antivirus system NOD32 – 2.5 - is, most of all, more user-friendly, and its features enable the AV system to use its abilities more effectively in order to protect users‘ data without users taking notice of its presence. Since further development of version 1 was stopped some time ago, this version does not implement the newest technologies and its protection capability is generally lower. On the other hand, version 2.5 meets all requirements for a top quality AV system.

The update from version 1 to version 2.5 will take place automatically. Should you have any problems, please contact our Technical Support Representatives to provide assistance. Thus all computers to be upgraded to the current version won‘t be left unprotected.

The upgrade to version 2.5 will take place at the end of this week, and virus signature database updates will be stopped at the end of this year.

This was announced more than a year ago, now we are approaching the point where updates for v. 1 will be discontinued and NOD32 1 users will be updated automatically to v. 2.5
