Don't know if it's been suggested already, but might it be possible, in instances
where Prevx protection becomes disabled, that user is given some warning of
this? At the moment just the absence of a system tray icon tells me this(when not browsing), unless you try to launch via Start menu for example.

    Ideas for V4 :

-> best improves submit files (suspect or fp with log)
    OR
-> "autobuild archive" on demand scan a file and generate log in archive for submit

    -> best community for http://www.prevx.com/malwarecenter.asp
with can be research per name, PX5, md5
can be submit comments (as virutotal example : ~ VirusTotal link removed per Policy ~ )

-> url blocking (for worm messenger, fake antivirus)

-> HIPS ( watch registry startup, domainname/proxy) ask autorise or not modification

    -> List processs with score ( example : http://norton-antivirus-2010.com-do...-2010/norton-insight-application-meter-lg.jpg )

    thank you for reply ;)

Advanced user Setting - The ability to add your own custom rules, probably behavioural.

    Example:

If any executable or .dll enters anywhere in system32 = Prompt before change.

Just to let you know I have upgraded Norton Internet Security from 2010 to 2011 official release yesterday (NIS subscribers can do that via Norton Update Centre) and so far no problems between NIS and Prevx. They co-work excellently as they did in the past (i.e. when NIS2010 was installed).

P.S. Sorry to hijack this thread a bit but I didn't want to open another thread just due to giving you information.

i'd love to have the ability to use a text entry box to enter directories or files for exceptions rather than having to navigate through the folder structure and select things.

if you have to select multiple single files in a directory to exclude, you have to re-navigate all the way back into the folder structure for that directory to be able to do it. having it either remember the last folder or giving a text box (ala default windows file navigation) would be awesome.

As some of the clipboard protection cannot be loaded on 64 bit, it would be nice to have an option to autoclear the clipboard after a certain amount of time when something has been copied, like KeePass.

I'd like to see it made evident to user that the "Scan now" button default scan
is same as Deep Scan in Advanced Scan options. I never realised this until 3 or
4 months ago, but then maybe I didn't look enough to find out.
Suggest.... "Scan Now(deep)" for example, perhaps. Just a minor point, thanks.:)

I agree that these pop-ups need some management or review options, so I was wondering if it might be possible to incorporate a log of all this for review,
    if desired?

:p Then I have wasted a sizable part of the last year of my life leading the development of it... Prevx 4 is certainly not a myth but we are just taking our time getting it right rather than rushing out an unfinished product as Prevx 3 is stable.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to this thread after Prevx 4 is released.

I'm looking forward to v5 maybe in a year or two so this thread will continue even if one's want to suggest something for v4 and the Prevx Engineers might look into it! ;)

All suggestions should go here to keep it in one place instead of all over the forums!

My point was what could possibly be missing with Prevx 4? Seeing as Prevx 3 is so all round already. It's going to be an interesting year for the avid fans of security applications.

Shoot me down if you like, but a suggestion for Joe: don't announce anything until the beta is ready to download and test. ;) That way, you prevent speculation and long threads like the one in the beta forum where people are continually asking/looking for the release of v4. It'll make your life so much easier.

:thumb: I agree - posting screenshots or anything before we're finished will result in sleepless nights of answering questions instead of actually finishing real work :)

How about adding an option to show the SOL status in the taskbar (or icon notification area)? So, let the user decide whether to see the status in the browser or see the status in the icon notification area. Or even add a Windows Desktop Gadget for it. Reason: it gets increasingly difficult to place the SOL status in a decent place with all these browsers implementing minimal interfaces (which I like though)...

    Kind regards,

    Geri

Probably been mentioned before, but it sure would be nice to see a simple, little Prevx icon in the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer. ;)

    Icon suggestion.

When I hoover over the P3 icon I see the version and that its protecting me. I would also like to see ie: "Last scan 1h15min ago: No threats found." That would mean easier use.

Also I would like the icon to turn red if it hasnt scanned for 24 hours.

Maybe this has already been up, but I was lazy and didnt read all the posts.

    Best Regards
