Now it's 2013...& I desperately wanna to know about the release schedule of ESS 6.

I wonder what is taking soo much time for release the final build? & even not any info about the release date that we could start the countdown at-least

This should be also addressed to Microsoft and other 3rd party application vendors that affect ESET's behavior.

The reason why ESET's products feels so light on the system is because the entire Database is loaded into the RAM, to reduce read and write to the HDD wich would be much slower.

So to have a fast product more AV developer could do as ESET and take advantage of the faster RAM, than using the HDD.

Unless it's a totally cloud based client as WSA that is light on the system, and still keps the RAM usage at a minimum.

So in other words, keeping the database loaded in the RAM and only use 10MB of RAM is not possible.

Keep in mind that I use ESET on a very old PC with only 512MB of RAM and it's not noticeable. :thumb:

Yepp I +1 on this suggestion. :thumb:

But my gut feeling is that ESET already have plans (or already developing) for something like this in the future. Since many users will benefit from it :)

The option to add "Enable/disable" Gamer Mode as a context menu item.

(option rightclick on the NOD32 in system tray, and enable/disable gamer mode

I know that, but it would be great if ESS could have the features I mentioned above.

    Thanks.

When removing malware, please also remove its remnants (registry keys) although they will pose no threat.

    Thank you.

Registry keys have always been removed when cleaning malware.

More aggressive on detecting and cleaning spyware & adware (like Malwarebytes).

    Thank you.

Not sure what you mean but "aggressive cleaning" is not something that system administrators would like to hear. Improper cleaning or cleaning a wrong file might cause more harm than if a production system got infected with malware.

Sorry, not just cleaning but also detecting, so user won't need to use a "2nd opinion" anti malware like Malwarebytes.

    Thank you.

I had a bad experience with ESS 5.
the notification location had been moving to the right centre of the screen after some updates....
    Win 7 home premium....
I had not played any games(as a potential cause)

I had to edit Reg to repair it...but it happened again and again....I hope this bug will be corrected

    Hello encus :)

You will not necessarily find more malware by using a more aggressive advanced heuristic algorithm. The only thing you can be certain of, is that you will stand with a myriad of false positives detections, that will lead to a tons of frustrated users. False positives can be much more a pain than malware. (Malware can easily be dealt with, if you a have strong backup policy on your system).

    Regards, Janus

I'd be very interested in receiving malware that ESET didn't protect you against or which remained undetected after 12-24 hours.

In the pop up notification when virus signature update completes successfully, include the "Show Details" option to view details of it.

    Thank you.

    Details of what, the file?

There are no details to be shown about that.

If you want Sig details of a particular update then you will find that over at Virusradar.com for example.

    Or here: http://go.eset.com/us/threat-center/threatsense-updates/
