Virtual CloneDrive. I have not tested it on Vista but just install it as Administrator.

I just go to www.megagames.com and download a nocd patch. I have so many games i can't be bothered changing disks all the time. Simple and easy.

MagicDisc is freeware, i recently used it and like it as freeware goes, but it didn't Unmount the drive when i right clicked to to so, but thats no biggie really for me, i have plenty of others that Unmount on command anyway, but it's still a nifty little offering for users who like these.

I tried virtual clone just a few minutes ago, using a Knoppix and then Ubuntu linux cd. It just locked me up tight twice, using xp pro sp2. Everything stopped working and had to hit reboot. Not sure what caused it, but it isn't for me.

I use Daemon Tools for iso backups, haven't let me down for years now.
Just remember if are going to install it, that it will install a toolbar unless you de-select it during setup.

Have and do use several of their products. No problems here. If I remember from the last time I installed one it does start Windows by default which could contribute to slower boot times. This can be disabled without harming functionality. < is that a word? :D

Daemon Tools has been around for years and works well. Just be careful not to install several different virtual drive programs at the same time as there can be conflicts.

Hopefully you can choose not to install it? Like Daemon Tools.

I read that the toolbar is installed (with no user choice) but you can uninstall it afterwards.

    Hi,

I need some quick advice, I would like to be able to play Fifa 2006 without my cd-rom, which tools do I need to make this happen? I first have to make an ISO image or something, correct? And after that I can use Daemon tools or Alcohol 52%? Sorry, I´m a complete noob. :p

I don't use Vista but understand that Virtual CD-rom control panel works in conpatability mode. I used to use Daemon tools but one time found it impossible to remove fully from a system. Anyway Virtual CD-rom control panel is much better in my view.

Not anymore. That was before, now it's optional.
