"Free Public WiFi" ssid phenomen???

    Do a google search for "Free Public WiFi" ssid and you will see a lot of people talking about seeing said ssid from airports to their corporate networks. To me a lot of the explanations fall in the it is p2p stuff or the most often final solution is it is Windows fault for remembering and broadcasting the last ssid by default.

    But if the latter were the case why don't we see other ssid's (starbucks or whatever) as well....why is it always "free public wifi" as an SSID?

    Am I missing something here?
