There is this deal where Panda antivirus is letting home users install their Panda Platinum Pro for free. Some promotional deal for IT users. But like I said they are offering it to home users. Too good of a deal to pass up I thought so I took advantage of it.

Seems to be running ok on my computer. I have XP home.

Anybody here familiar with Panda? How does it stack up against NAV, AVK Pro, PCC? Does it have good unpackers?

Surely any 'higher end' antivirus that offers its product for free has to be worth a go, even as backup?

Hi Ole. I use KAV resident, and recently installed version 5 of V Coms System Suite which has an excellent AV scanner I can use for backup.

I would give you my copy and the key, but it is tied to my Email addy.
I may go ahead and reinstall it and have a second backup. Doesn't seem like a bad AV, but I hesitate to use it as resident instead of KAV.

    Hi Root.
    That i can understand.
Not many, if any AVs beats KAV for overall detection.
For my own box i prefere Nod & a good AT scanner.
I tried KAV personal long ago. Too difficult for me, and my pc didnt like it.
Never seen so many config. options in a AV as in KAV.
    Regards
    Ole :)

PS. Thanks for your offer. Couldnt accept it even if it was possible.
    Anyway, very nice of you.
