    Hi folks,
    *
I have been looking on the net for a easy to FTP to transfer files you wouldn't be able to send through email to someone else's personal computer.
    *
The problem is I have never used one of these programs before and can't make heads or tails what would work for me or who is legit and who is not. They all keep mentioning connecting to a FTP server, I just want to connect to a family members computer so they are able to have this file.
    *
How safe are these to use?
    *
Thanks for any and all responses.

P.S- Why do I keep getting all these asterisks all throughtout my post*when*I*type? I have too keep removing them.

    Hi Rilla

How often do you have to do this.

The free Hamachi enables you to create a private network over the internet. It presents itself as a local network in Windows explorer.

Then there is avvenu, I don't have experience with that.
Or the free iRemotePC for remote desktop and file transfer.
    Or Foldershare.

If you want to share less than 5 GB, then also Xdrive could be an option.

    These options are free, enjoy!

    Hi Pete,

Well, I have needed it many times but never ventured out to ask and find a program. I did try Beam File once, but people don't like to have to install something on their end in order to get the file.

    Xdrive works with any browser.
