Free internet bites the dust again

    Well, it looks like the totally free internet access offered by Greatdialup.com went offline back in January 31 due to too much traffic on the 1-800 line. When you dangle out a freebie, eventually the number of users will balloon to an unmanageable number and then it collapses from all of the weight. Also, the ad revenue generating gimmick usually doesn't provide enough capital to sustain the free internet offering. That was how it was with the Internet implosion back in 2000-2002. I saw this offering and hesitated to sign up to see how it would play out. I did not give it much of a chance. It seems that my prediction came true unfortunately. :doubt:
