I have tried COMODO and Online Armour and both are nightmares with Punkbuster and simply refuses to allow me to play online games that need Punkbuster.

I have tried everything to get COMODO and Online Armour to allow Punkbuster but the online game keeps booting me giving me a Punkbuster error.

Is there a FREE FIREWALL that is Punkbuster friendly and that will ALLOW Punkbuster to work properly?

Windows Firewall Control Free does not have System/Core application protection.

    Next? Anyone else?

How about Sygate Personal Firewall Free or Zonealarm Free?

Can you post your full list of requirements first? In your first post the only requirement was for a free firewall. In you next post it is now a requirement to have system/core application protection. Is that it? Any more requirements?

You should try it yourself and check which one suits your needs. If PrivateFirewall gives you BSOD(I know you got bad experience about BSOD from Avast!)then you may try Zone Alarm.

Punkbuster should work with any firewall if you configure them properly. Yes, it's a stubborn program, but it should. You just have to allow certain ports. One tip is that you should update it manually from the game's folder. That way you don't have to wrestle with update errors.

I didn't like Private Firewall at all. Some programs like Punkbuster wasn't even showing up in the PF listing.

So I installed Zone Alarm instead and it seems to work good, and it shows Punkbuster and EVERYTHING that is running, where Private Firewall did not!o_O

And ZA asked me 3 times regarding Punkbuster and that was it and the online game and punkbuster works fine. I wish OA and COMODO was that easy, but they ain't and always block Punkbuster no matter how many times I tell it to allow it.

BTW, did anyone else notice when you install ZA, that it doesn't disable your windows firewall and you have to disable it manually?
