Free blog/ web page service?

Somehow I have got a crazy idea of writing my blog/ web page.
Not knowing anything about it, I want to know are there any sites that can offer such a free service, that can be used even by dummies.

Don,t want a google serach results, somthing really known or used by you.

You cant do better than www.wordpress.com (as already mentioned) at the moment IMHO if you want hosted blog (and you can use your own domain name).
