Yeah, they still have pop up ads. Just about every day. Sometimes two in a day. Just gets annoying after a while. I'm using the free version. I'm not interested in upgrading. Quit showing me the same nag screens. Uninstalled because of it. I know, it's free and they have to try and make money some way, but I find the pop ups annoying. I don't want ads or pop ups on my system.

Might try Panda. But it seems they have pop ups as well. Currently using MSE and of course there are no pop ups but nowhere near the same protection. And yes, I know, I could pay for AV that doesn't have pop ups, but I don't want to...:p

You could try AVG, Forticlient or Bitdefender. :p The last free AV without ad pop ups ...

AVG is crap...Never tried Forticlient and Bitdefender seems OK, but requires registration and I've heard they are not keen at continuing support for the free version.

i'm fed up with the new Panda ad, and am looking for a replacement. although Bitdefender free is not on the priority list of the developer, it seems to be the only good free alternative. but the logs button problem is keeping me back in trying it.

Forticlient is nice but you may feel it.
It's the not the fastest on the market, unfortunately.
    But since it's free...

Your calling AVG crap and your using MSE o_O

All you need is an email address and you`ve got bitdefender free forever.

What`s the big deal about a nag screen anyway? Your getting perfectly good products for FREE so why not buy one and quit nagging. ?

forticlient didn't need any registration, they update the product frequently, and they didn't have any nag screen only small banner on the bottom of the product.
maybe you should really try some product, so you know the real facts of each product

It's really straightforward, for an ads free AV just pay for the subscription. :p;)

Yeah...I have on numerous systems and MSE has provided better protection than AVG. Much better. Sorry, stand by my statement. I've done lots of AV testing myself and AVG never performed well at all and again, is crap. Just my opinion. Some will agree, others will not.

When I install AV software for a friend or associate, I like software that does not prompt them really for anything. Don't like nag screens.

I've been working in the I.T. industry for about 20 years now and have tested and used many, many products. I've also programmed for most of that time and ran my own software company. Don't call me out unless you know me and know what I do, thanks.

    Exactly,

Fact: MSE is used as a barely acceptable baseline by many testing authorities in which AVG scores well above, up there with the likes of Avast, Avira etc.

Dont be afraid of the nag screen embrace the nag screen.

I like nag screens.....come to think of it I even like my wife ?

lol...I'm simply saying I am an experienced programmer and I.T individual who has years and years of experience. But hey, whatever. I see systems that have MSE and are running along just fine.

Oh and just this afternoon, another users' system...completely useless now, files secured and screwed by ransomewear and what was protecting the system...hmmm, AVG Internet Security. How about that...

Don't believe I ever said forticlient needs registration.

Topics waiver sometimes...it's called discussion. This is a discussion forum is it not?
