Very interesting test, very interesting results. I knew Panda would fail the PFD test for I have never seen Panda detect those kinda of exploits via signatures. Those exploits should have been taken care of via TruPrevent if they were testing pro version.

Panda is getting very strong. I have to admit, 2010 may be there year, to win or lose.

In a sense, they all did well and had strengths in a specific area, and they all had areas they could improve on.

    Malicious URLs
    Avast, Avira, MSE.

    On-demand scan
    Avira, Panda, MSE.

    After one week
    Panda, Avira, AVG, Avast.

    After three weeks
    Avast, Avira, Panda, AVG.

    Rootkits
    Panda, MSE.

Author says that Trend Micro's web protection is very strong and recommends it. Overall, a lot of time would have went into that test, very entertaining to read. Thank you to the author. :thumb:

Hi everyone, I just inform you that the site administrator Malekal.com reported yesterday explained the problem by sending an email to Symantec and now everything is resolved: http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=malekal.com&x=0&y=0

I take this opportunity to highlight the excellent reactivity of Symantec

Thank you to you and wish you a good day.

Is this TrendMicro product available as a browser add-on? If so any links would be helpful.

Ahhh... thanks. The link trjam posted had me thinking. At the expense of further taking this thread into unintended directions, does the Web Protection Add-On work across all browsers? Is it an HTTP scanning tool?

Sometimes it is quite complicated to find the right software on the site of Trend Micro because they have multiple versions and produce too many derivatives to protect web but the link I provided is correct.

    hi all and thanks :)

it works across all browsers because The Web Protection Add-on is not a Web Broswer Plugin.
it loads into the Windows network so all processes connections is tracking, malicious or not. And in the case of a malicious Web Protection Add-On is able to prevent the connection to the C&C for example.
The Web Protection Add-on is using Cloud Technology.

You have some screenshots there (sorry it's in French but you prolly understand what Web Protection Add-on is able to do) : http://forum.malekal.com/trend-micro-web-protection-add-t19288.html

FYI, Trend will release a new Internet Security Programs calling Titanium (beta test for now).
Titanium use Cloud technology for URL and files detection.
    See there : https://www.trendbeta.com/pages/
and also some screenshots : http://forum.malekal.com/trend-micro-security-t21071.html

i recommand you to test it, it's very efficient.

    haha yes!
but the test environment is amazing! :argh:

hope they will add Sophos in the next test, Sophos is good to block Web stuffs, but less than Trend, i think.

    Of course.

www3. malekal. com is not the same box as the web site and forum (www.malekal.com / forum.malekal.com) look at the IP.

i use www3. malekal. com to store malwares, i share it with some people (AV guyz, helper, fix authors etc).
and i did a mistake, i remove the index so the norton bot was able to browse all the site and so the bot found malwares...
The domain malekal.com (*.malekal.com) was tagged as bad, and that why you got the warn on forum.malekal.com or www.malekal.com
There are still malicious contents there for share, some with zip password and some not, but it's not dangerous for users.

    ~~

For McAfee it's an other story - when the bot checks the website, it founds links of Combofix to BleepingComputer (SiteAdvisor last verified this link: 2009 February).
At this Time, McAfee detect Combofix as a backdoor (but there is just RistkTool in Combofix like any other fix - Combofix is heavy used in removal forums). So SiteAdvisor tagg malekal.com as bad.
BleepingComputer (and other website) hosting Combofix are currently safe (green), but the status malekal.com is still not updated and tagged as dangerous.

I mail them in the last December and blablabla, in february the guy replys me that i sent the case to level 2, just for a RiskTool story  (is there a level 50 for rootkit stuffs? hum ? :ninja: )
and i still not have any news from them......

and Yahoo wich is using McAfee puts a warn on my site :thumbd:

The strength of COMODO at the moment is in the CIS suite. Are you going to test it as such or as a standalone AV?

    yup as a standalone AV.
Because you can't install a HIPS for all users, it's to difficult to understand for newbie.
HIPS is for experimented users or family which have one to configure it.

Just test what you can and have time for. We can be demanding here but it's your free time/weekends Malekal that are being taken-up to test these products.

Take your time - whenever the next test comes, all ok.
