Just wondering, do you know of any free antivirus and firewall programs that can be used by non-profit organizations, such as churches? I know that most of them are for personal use only, and we certainly would want to respect that.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

as for antivirus if you have a set of 10 computers i would suggest using MSE or if you only have 5 computers AVG free. I think Comodo offers it for free and PCTOOLS AV FREE is available for other environment .

Thanks. Actually we only have 1 computer, so I'm not sure how that would apply. I was under the impression that AVG Free couldn't be used by non-profits, and I wasn't sure either way about MSE.

AVG is NOT allowed for Non-Profits (Including Churches) I know Panda Cloud Free can be used in Churches and Non-Profit Education.

Thanks. We may give Panda Cloud Free a try. Do you know of any free firewalls that could be used along with it? It might be better for me to ask that seperately in the firewall forum...

is it behind NAT? is it running windows vista or 7? if yes to either or both, you could just stick to the windows firewall and you'll be fine.

Unfortunately, no NAT that I know of. And it's XP, so I'd really hate to use the Windows Firewall, if there were another alternative. Plus, it's used by several people who will absolutely freak out if bombarded by a lot of pop-ups that they don't understand. So my options may be severely limited...

Thanks. I had thought about Zonealarm, but after their recent "marketing" fiasco, I really had hoped to be able to go in another direction. Those kind of "scare tactics" are a big turn-off to me. But I'll keep it in mind.

Nat routers are cheap and a one time purchase.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I think we'll try first the combination of Panda Cloud Free and Privatefirewall. I found out that it, too, could be used in a non-profit environment. I do have a question about PFW, but I'll ask it in the firewall forum.

    Thanks again!
