Is there any free ad blocking programme that can block ads both in fireox and IE. I want something that is light on sources and easy to set up. Thanks.

Adblock extension works nice in FF....
and although not free, AdMuncher is well worth the money and works in all browsers. Has a 30 day free trial also.

i use proxomitron with grypen's filterset. it may not be as easy as adblock but it works. and if u decide on adblock, also make sure to pickup the adblock filterset g updater.

You can also try Firefox extension ImgLikeOpera. This is not an ad blocker but there's an option wherein you can choose not to show pictures or graphics, only letters and words in a web. It also makes surfing faster as it will not load pictures at all. ;)

The firefox built-in pop-up blocker is enough for me as it also does its job pretty well...

Using IE7 (seldom) I am trying out Earthlink now (screenshot)
In Fireox I use Adblock plus with FiltersetG

I´d like to ad Hostsman here too.
    http://www.abelhadigital.com/
It will block most of the ad servers (with updated hosts list)
If you dont use Firefox with adblock this is the way to go :)
    and it´s free.

Just get some good host files(like bluetack or hpguru, or mvps) and either hostman or edexter and you are good to go in any browser. Did I mention it's free :D . If you decide the proxomitron, check out grypen's filterset at Castlecops. It is updated quite frequently and does the job very well.
