Is there no way of making Vivaldi load every tab once we start it up and not being necessary to click on every single tab for it to load the website?

    You can use "Sessions".

That's not it. I mean, i already got them opened as soon as i launch the browser but it doesn't load them until i click on every single tab, it's like they're hibernated or something.

I always need to open the browser > click on a tab (it then loads the website BUT with no changes from previous visit) > click refresh to check the new information on that website.

Don't know Vivaldi, but in several places I've seen talk about reducing activity in not-yet-used/not-recently-used tabs to conserve resources (battery, memory, bandwidth, etc). Does Vivaldi have a preference system where you can look for a setting to not do that?

The second paragraph kind of makes it sound like there could be a bug involved.

Lazy tab loading. Apparently most Vivaldi users are fine with that (some power users they must be) and the devs are too stubborn/indifferent to change or remove that "feature".

    Forum topic on the subject:

Quite frankly, it's the reason why I'm not using Vivaldi.

Whoa, a thread since October last year and yet there's no way to turn that off? Unbelievable.

That's also the reason i don't use Vivaldi more often, it's annoying sitting there all the time reloading those tabs when that shouldn't happen. Cannot believe that there's nothing even on the "about:flags".

Thank you. Seeing the screenshot it seemed like new Opera.

latest snapshot is buggy in parts. pressing some buttons wont show action - using stable with same profile show oops.
although vivaldi has its development and minor advantages vs opera - opera is even as dev much more stable and versatile.

i had also trouble to get vivaldi standalone working on another computer - nothing happens, no browser popping up.
the speed dial is awful taking snapshots from pages instead text-only like opera.

concerning background loading - i think this has been resolved in flags. i did not notice it here.

I noticed the firewall showing pop-ups for Vivaldi because it tries to connect over UDP:443. Is this the phoning home that was talked about earlier?
Can the lazy tab loading not be fixed by changing this Flag?
    Only Auto-Reload Visible Tabs

    What's killing me is:

In horizontal Main Menu - you need to go tab by tab, click click click you can't just navigate to the right or left as you go, why not?

It's too RAM-hungry - true, FF is as well but with the addition of Memory Fox it's a puppy.

Perhaps we have to wait till v 2.0

simple as that - dont use it ^^
i dont have it activated in firefox also, same opera (has no menu like that, only button) - i use the button.
the button offers you the desired functionality.

but i would say that snapshot 1.3 is a bit slower than stable 1.2.
unfortuantely i can not use all extensions i use on opera as i like to because those are not available at the chrome store. i have to download and install from zip - that would make them lose with vivaldi portable on another location - same effect as opera portable.

I might be paranoid - but, the choice of a web browser is worth the most careful consideration at all aspects, especially the security aspect. You use your web browser to access your bank account and all other vitally important personal information. So first of all, who are these guys who make this new browser, can they be really trusted?
