I wasn't sure where to post this, but I just wanted to let Wilders folks know that a brand new forum specifically designed to help the very new to computing has been created, and that it could use the support of those with some experience in computing who can help the "newbies" with basic stuff. Its name is "The Computer Haven", and the main intro page is here: http://computerhaven.info/forum/

A good friend of mine is on the initial "staff" there (all volunteers, like Wilders') , and the small crew who have created it are mainly MS MVP's, in the industry- at least part-time, experienced as Mods and Admins at other forums, etc.

There are now still less than 100 registered members, it's that nascent (a week or so old, I believe). Any Wilders user who has a bit of spare time and would like to offer what knowledge or experience they have to true "newbies" would be most appreciated. The Haven isn't targeted to a specific area (such as security) or the more "advanced user" like Wilders might be in some ways, thus anyone can be extremely helpful over there, expert or newcomer alike!

Right now the founder, Patty MacDuffie, has asked for suggestions on what terms to include in her Haven Glossary- which I bet many of you could help out with!

Please stop over if you can! Again, it's found at:

:doubt: IPB Board, admin in one but don't think I could put up with being a normal user.

Galcoolest. Found it to be a very nice Forum. Well laid out and very knowable people there. I registered last nite as I was driving by.

As was said by Galcoolest if you all have the time drop in and say hi and if you like what you see register.

    Thanks so much, Terryla.

Hopefully some of our venerable "family" will pay a visit and become part of the Haven's just forming family, too.

Funny thing I need to mention though- Patty (the Big Cheese over there) names her 'anything goes" section "Ten Forward" a day or so ago, and I ask her where she got that (cynically assuming here, of course), and it turns out she came up with that moniker completely on her own, independent of knowledge of Wilders' sections! 100% coincidentally! (So no further need to wonder about that similarity, except insofar as it might be a karmic pointer for Wilders folks to go check out The Haven!)

You'll know me by my avatar there... not to mention my motormouth!

Some brave WildFolk have ventured over, and are rather enjoying it like a new cafe you might discover... you don't stay all day, but it has good joe, fresh banana bread and extremely clean restrooms. I encourage others to stop by, as you're llikely to find old pals there and your company (conversation) would be appreciated for sure! ;)

    It's PINK!

If I have Wilders open at the same time it's like his and hers, all we need is the bath robes with embroidered lapels ;) :D

His and Her's not withstanding..at least there both sexes could wear the same bra.

    Bra Sizes

    Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F,

G, H and how the letters used to define bra sizes? If you have wondered
why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for, it is about time
    you became informed!

    {A} Almost Boobs...

    {B} Barely there.

    {C} Can't Complain!

    {D} Dang!

    {DD} Double dang!

    {E} Enormous!

    {F} Fake.

    {G} Get a Reduction.

{H} Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up.

it means he thinks it is forum powered by Invision Power Board

    http://www.invisionpower.com/

and that he was an Adminstrator at one with that board software.

He is wrong on the first count since they use

    Forum Software © ASPPlayground.NET Advanced Edition 2.4.2 SP2

and for the rest of the statement..o_O? Who knows :D

    Hey I'm A "Newbie!!"
But, I don't really care to learn too much about the computer-I just want it to work, I don't care 'How" it works.
    JUST WORK!! GOOSH DARN-IT!!!
That's what I figure I've got Beetlejuice around for--
to make sure it keeps working. :D :-* Love ya, Honey!

I do have a wee, little, teeny, tiny, questions, though.

OK, I know that LOL=Laugh Out Loud
and Beetlejuice told me that BTW=By The Way

But, I'm really lost on all the other codes.
I'm pretty sure I know LMFAO (Laugh My Truckin Gas Off -right?)

What the heck do all thoughs others stand for?

If you can't type the word, maybe make a rthyms with it, I'll figure it out.

Please, don't be affended, but..... I really don't care what DSL or RAM stands for, unless it relates to conversation (remember, a conversation that I would have).
    :D :D

OH MY GOODNESS!!! The "Bra" thing was VERY FUNNY!!!!

I recently had a look at a program called Acronym genius which was a program containing a large database of all computer related Acronym's. I tried to find an address to download it but I couldn't find it, you might want to have a look into it.

It contained some online chating slang as well as technical.
