    Hi,

I always wondered why playing flash/silverlight videos across different browsers gives different experience. When one browser does not play videos with out stuttering, i simply shift to another browser. Mostly i play either in Firefox or IE. Chrome is unusable as it cannot play with out stuttering.

So, today i ran a simple test by playing a video from YouTube across the browsers, and found few interesting observations..

IE 10/ IE 10 Metro - No Problem in playing videos at 1080P, streaming without any issue.:thumb:
Normal Window - No problem, Video Rendering & Decoding is Accelerated (see attached screenshot):)
Maximized Window - No Problem, Video Rendering & Decoding is Accelerated (see attached screenshot):)

Firefox 23 - No Problem in playing videos at 1080P, but occasionally video stops playing due to buffering.
Normal Window - Not viewable, as video stutters. (i see that rendering is automatically set to software based)o_O
Maximized Window - No Problem. Video Rendering & Decoding is Accelerated (see attached screenshot):-*

Chrome 29 - Not Viewable, as video stutters. Video decoding is software based (see attached screenshot).:thumbd:

Does, anyone know, what should be done in Chrome, that video decoding is gpu accelerated. Can it be forced?
Also, anytips for Firefox, to pick GPU accelerated when playing in normal window. Seems to be bug in firefox, that it picks software based decoding when playing in Normal window.

Note: This is just an observation based on my system. And same may/will not be true for others.

1st Screenshot: Firefox; 2nd Screenshot: Chrome; 3rd Screenshot: IE 10 Metro; 4th Screenshot: IE 10

    Thanks,
    Venkat.
