Firewall slow loading of browser?

    Today I installed Avira free on my laptop, and am using the Windows XP firewall. I also have SAS loading with Windows.

    When I open a browser it seems to open several seconds faster than with the FSIS. I am wondering if the fact that the Windows firewall does not check outbound traffic speeds up the loading of the browsers? I notice this with both FF andIE.
