What version did they bring the Add-on Bar back? I've only just noticed it. :)

Hadron, the old Add-on bar was removed with the Firefox 29 version, according to this Support Forum post.

FYI. What happened to the Add-on Bar?

If it's different from the referred article, can you post a screen capture?

If you right click up the top, you will see that Add-on Bar is an option.

Well, that's weird. I only see 2 toolbar options: Menu Bar (which I have selected) and Bookmarks Toolbar.

Hadron, perhaps you got the Add on bar by installing an addon that puts the option back. I restored the Add on bar with Classic theme restorer.

Hi Hadron. There is no option to tick or untick the Add on bar in the Classic theme restorer interface. When you install Classic theme restorer, the option for the Add on bar is added automatically to the context menu. So, "If you right click up the top, you will see that Add-on Bar is an option." You ll also see the option to display it from View>Toolbars.

After years of spinning its wheels, Mozilla recently stepped up work on separating page rendering from content in Firefox to make the browser more secure and more stable.

Dubbed Electrolysis, or "e10s" for short, Mozilla's attempt to bring multiple processes to Firefox got a shot in the arm last month when Chris Peterson, an engineering program manager with the open-source developer, announced that the team working on the project had been expanded.

Sounds like it might be implemented in the release channel by end of year :thumb:

Unfortunately that article seems to cast some doubt on 64-bit Firefox. Hopefully some day Firefox will multi-process, sandboxed and 64-bit as well. I will seriously consider using Firefox again once they achieve those goals.

Well, it seems that Gregg Keizer is a bit confused these days. What he's writing about is actually old news - the post he's referring to was written on May 21, 2014! Since then a lot of progress has been made for e10s.

Yes. AFAIR, Bill McClusky's post dated from Dec 5, 2013 was the first confirmation that development of e10s was resumed after it had been put on hold two or three years earlier because Mozilla wanted to improve Firefox performance first before introducing multi-processing (which causes problems for many extensions among other problems).

As an interesting side note, Mozilla is also planning in 2015 to land a component of the Servo rendering engine (which is written in the Rust language) into Gecko. Servo might replace Gecko someday. This would further increase performance and would make Firefox a more secure browser (because of Rust - no more buffer overflows etc.).
